Summary. Aircraft electrical/instrument/flight control systems technicians, at the IMA level, inspect, test, maintain, and repair components, assemblies, subassemblies, modules, cards, printed circuit boards, and ancillary equipment whose aggregate constitutes a complete aircraft electrical/flight control system or subsystem.

Requirements/Prerequisites

(1) Must possess an EL score of 105 or higher.

(2) Complete the Aviation Electricians Mate School Class A, AE(A) and appropriate NAMTGD courses.

(3) Complete one or more NAMTGD, or equivalent, IMA maintenance courses on aircraft electrical/flight control systems and instruments, and have completed a sufficient period of OJT to qualify as an aircraft electrical/instrument/flight control systems technician, Helicopter, IMA.

(4) Must be a U.S. citizen.

(5) Must have a confidential security clearance.

(6) Must have normal color vision.
