Job Description: Technical controller Marines operate technical control equipment to locate faults or degradation in communication networks. They are in key positions to test transmission quality since most high-capacity communications circuits pass through tech control equipment. Typical duties include testing of circuits to ensure circuit quality is maintained, repair faults or degradation in communications networks, and maintain records on activation/deactivation of communications links. Technical controller Marines operate and maintain tech control equipment by performing tasks including equipment adjustments and replacing faulty components/parts.
Job Requirements:
(1) Must possess an EL score of 115 or higher
(2) Complete the Basic Electronics Course and Technical Controller Course.
(3) Marines must have 36 months obligated service remaining upon graduation from the Technical Controller Course. This obligated service must be obtained prior to execution of pes (DUINS) or PCA (DUINS) orders to the course.
(4) Must be eligible for a secret security clearance.
(5) Must have normal color vision.
(6) Must be a U.S. citizen.
