Summary. Utilities chiefs are responsible for supervising all personnel within the utilities OccFld and for managing utilities projects.

Requirements/Prerequisites

(1) Possess experience in either MOS 1141, 1142, 1161, 1171, or 1181.

(2) Must have normal color vision.

(3) Meet the physical requirements of TM 11275-15/4.

(4) Completion of the Utilities Chiefs Course is required within 1 year after selection to the grade of Gunnery Sergeant, unless assigned outside the MOS in a non-FMF command such as recruiting/MSG duty. In these cases, after reassignment to a billet requiring MOS 1169, Marines should attend this course within 12 months.

(5) This MOS will be assigned only by the authority of CMC (MM).
