This Directive: 1. Supersedes Deputy Secretary of Defense Memorandum, March 28, 1989. 2. Establishes policy, assigns responsibilities, and prescribes procedures for reporting to the Inspector General of the Department of Defense (IG, DoD) allegations of serious misconduct against senior officials of the department of Defense.
