This Instruction further delineates the procedures and responsibilities for the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) that are prescribed in DoD Directive 1341.1, October 14, 1981, and, thereby, establishes the DEERS Steering Group, the DEERS Steering Group Secretariat, the DEERS Program Office, the DEERS Work Group and Work Group Committees, and the Configuration Control Board.
