| DOD Instruction 1000.13 IDENTIFICATION (ID) CARDS FOR MEMBERS OF THE UNIFORMED SERVICES, THEIR DEPENDENTS, AND OTHER ELIGIBLE INDIVIDUALS | ||||||||||||||
This Instruction implements policy in DoD Directive 1000.22, "Uniformed Services' Identification (ID) Cards," October 8, 1997 and reissues DoD Instruction 1000.13, "Identification (ID) Cards for Members of the Uniformed Services, Their Dependents, and Other Eligible Individuals," December 30, 1992 (hereby canceled) to update DoD policy, responsibilities and procedures for the issuance of ID cards to members of the Uniformed Services of the United States; prescribes ID and privilege cards for issuance to their dependents and other eligible individuals; and incorporates new policies on Selected Reserve Transition Programs, the Temporary Early Retirement Authority, abused dependents receiving transitional compensation, and the machine-readable identification card. Technical specifications and issuing procedures for ID cards are outlined in enclosure 3, attachment 1 of this Instruction.
