| Food Service Specialist (FS) | |||||||||||||||||||||
The Food Service Specialist (FS) receive top training in cooking skills, accounting, management, leadership, and the ability to organize and carry out many tasks. They will also learn equipment safety and use, recipe conversions, basic food preparation terminology, basic food preparation skills, baking, sanitation, purchasing, storage, nutrition and wellness cooking, and dining facility management. FS’s can be found in just about every duty station available throughout the United States and various locations overseas. They serve on every Coast Guard Cutter, from harbor tugs to sea-going icebreakers. Qualifications: Interest in food preparation. Ability to understand and apply instruction and procedures for handling food and have a good mathematical background for recipe conversions. High standards of honesty and personal cleanliness. Education in Food service and hospitality or experience in food service will be helpful. ASVAB Score Requirements: VE+AR OF 106 Training: Related
