Each
year, the Air Force accepts applications for their Physician Assistant
Enlisted Commissioning Program. Only active duty enlisted Air Force members are eligible for
the program. Those selected are commissioned as a 2nd Leutenant following
training.
To be eligible,
applicants must:
- Be on
active duty in the grade of E-3 through E-8 with a minimum of two years
and a maximum of 14 years active military service as of the date of
phase I of the training program.
- Meet age
limitations specified in Air Force Instruction 36-2005 for appointment
as second lieutenant in the Biomedical Sciences Corps (less than 35
years of age upon completion of Phase II Training.)
- Scholastic
Aptitude Test (SAT) (combined verbal and math score of 950).
- Have a
minimum general score of 80 points on the Armed Services Vocational
Aptitude Battery or Air Force Classification Test.

Sixty
semester hours of transferable college credits and a grade point average
of 2.5 or better on a 4.0 scale. Courses listed below are mandatory
and must be in class-room at an accredited college or university. A
combined minimum 3.0 GPA is required in the Math and Sciences courses.
Twenty-four semester hours may be met from CCAF, DANTES, USAFI correspondence
courses, end-of-course test, or specific subject examination.
- Chemistry
w/lab -8 Semester Hours (cannot clep this requirement)
- Biology
w/lab - 4 Semester Hours (cannot clep this requirement)
- Algebra
- 3 Semester hours (cannot clep this requirement)
- Social
Sciences - 6 Semester Hours - (may clep this requirement)
- Psychology
- 3 Semester Hours (cannot clep this requirement)
- Anatomy
& Physiology - 8 Semester hours (cannot clep this requirement)
- English
- 6 Semester Hours (composition recommended - may clep 3 semester
hours)
- Be physically
qualified for worldwide duty.
- If overseas,
must have a DEROS (Date Eligible Return from Overseas Station) on or
before the scheduled class date. Early return from overseas assignment
is not authorized.
- Never
convicted by court-martial or received an Article 15 during the current
enlistment.
- Be eligible
to extend or reenlist for six years within 60 days prior to class start
date.
- Be a U.S.
citizen.
