Eligible officers pursuing off duty undergraduate or graduate civilian education courses may apply for tuition assistance under the provisions of AR 621-5. If approved, the Army pays up to 75 percent of tuition costs (Note: This is scheduled to change to 100 percent after 1 October 2002). All other amounts, such as fees for registration and matriculation and the cost of books and supplies, are paid for by the officer.
