63T--Bradley Fighting Vehicle System Mechanic (BFVS Mech), CMF 63 (Closed to women)
a. Major duties. The Bradley fighting vehicle system (BFVS) mechanic supervises and performs unit maintenance on, and recov ery operations of the improved tow vehicle (ITV), infantry fighting vehicle (WV), cavalry fighting vehicle (CFV), fire support vehicle (FISTV), multiple launch rocket system (MLRS), and the 113 fam ily of light armored vehicles, including the automotive, turret, fire control, and chemical protection systems. Duties for MOS 63T at each skill level are:
(1) MOSC 63T10. Maintains (inspects/troubleshoots/replaces/ repairs] adjusts/performs preventive maintenance checks and serv ices (PMCS)) diesel power plants/packs/units, compression engines, wheel vehicle clutch assemblies, compression ignition engine fuel systems, compression ignition air induction systems, vehicle ex haust/liquid cooling systems, vehicle starting/charging systems, track vehicle hull electrical systems, standard/automatic transmission assemblies, crossdrive transmission assemblies, auxiliary drive as semblies, propeller shaft assemblies, air/hydraulic brake system, me chanical brake systems, track/wheel vehicle suspension systems, vehicle wheel/hub assemblies, mechanical/hydraulic steering sys tems, controlled differential steering systems, track vehicle hydraulic assemblies, auxiliary power units, wheel vehicle winch assemblies, fire extinguisher/suppression systems, and gas particulate filter systems.
(2) MOSC 63T20. Performs duties in preceding skill level, su pervises lower grade soldiers and provides technical guidance to the soldiers in the accomplishment of their duties.
(3) MOSC 63T30. Performs duties in preceding skill levels, per form and
supervise Bradley fighting vehicle system turret mechanic (MOS 45T) duties,
supervises lower rank soldiers and provides technical guidance to the soldiers
in the accomplishment of their duties. Inspects and troubleshoots: Ml 13 series
vehicle automotive systems vehicle automotive systems, Bradley fighting vehicle
sys tems (M2/M3) series automotive/armament systems, recovery vehi cle (M578)
automotive systems, recovery vehicle (M88A1) automotive systems, and light-wheel
vehicle automotive systems. Performs battlefield damage assessment and repair
(BDAR) of track/wheel vehicle armament/automotive systems.
MOSC 63T40. Performs duties in preceding skill levels, su pervises lower
grade soldiers and provides technical guidance to the soldiers in the accomplishment
of their duties.
Physical demands rating and qualifications for initial award of MOS. Bradicy
fighting vehicle system mechanics must possess the following qualifications:
A physical demands rating of very heavy.
A physical profile of 222222.
Normal color vision,
A minimum score of 105 in aptitude area MM.
Current equipment qualification record for all types of equip ment maintained.
Formal training (completion of MOS 63T course conducted under the auspices of
the USA Ordnance Center andSchool) mandatory.
P5--Master Fitness Trainer,
2S----Battle Staff Operations (skill level 3 and above).
(4) 4A--Reclassification Training.
