1. Reference: BCT POI 21-114, Annex M
2. Each platoon will select one drill sergeant to lead the platoon in the March Off Drill Competition, held on the drill pad between C/2-46 and E/2-46 or Sadowski Field House.
3. Uniform for the March Off is BDU, soft cap, weapon, and shined boots. Privates will take one canteen and ground it at the site.
3. The battalion CSM and one other NCO will judge the March Off. Commands are in Appendix 1. The event takes about 15 minutes per platoon.
4. The 1SG will randomly determine the order of march for the company.
5. After all platoons have completed the March Off, the judges will confer and inform the 1SG of the winner.
6. The 1SG or commander will award the March Off streamer immediately after the march off.
Note: These Operating Instructions were derived from a set of SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for a United States Army Infantry Basic Training Battalion. While SOPs might differ somewhat from batallion to batallion, it should give a basic idea of the instructions that Drill Sergeants and basic training staff members operate under.
