"Crunches" (sit-ups) are done in a one-minute time-period. Originally, the Air Force had planned on a two-minute test requirement, but in voluntary testing conducted the past two years, only about 60 percent of Air Force members could pass the two-minute standards. As a result, the Air Force has decided on a one-minute test standard. The number of repetitions are counted during one minute, and the componant points awarded according to the chart below. Crunches are just one part of the Air Force's total fitness test program. Crunches make up 10 percent of the total fitness composite points. The other three parts of the program consist of:
