| The YB-49 "Flying Wing" was precursor to today's B-2 Spirit bomber. Test pilot Maj. Daniel H. Forbes Jr. and co-pilot Capt. Glen Edwards died test flying the plane in 1948. Forbes Field, Kan., and Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., were named after the aviators. |
