You approach the bunk and quietly ask, "Hey, dude, what's the problem?" A young "baby-face" appears from under the blankets, still sobbing. "I can't take this," he says. "There's no way I can make it, and there's no way I can go home again." You continue to talk with him, and -- although he appears to calm down, he makes it very plain to you that he is considering taking his life. He keeps saying that he has no choice. Of course, you try to talk him out of it. Toward the end of the conversation, you think you've made some progress, but you're not sure if he still might be planning on killing himself.
