You hit the ground, breathing harder than you've ever breathed in your life. Your eyes are watery, and everything is a blur all around you. Sergeant Grunts comes running up to you, and you think, "Here it comes. I'm really in for it, now!" Sergeant Grunt reaches you, and says, "You okay, Double-Crap?" You nod, and manage to gasp out, "Yes, Drill Sergeant!" You tense, waiting for the thunder to hit your ears. But, surprisingly, no loud noise! No Yelling!
That's when you look toward the drill pad, and notice that several others had already dropped out, and were walking back toward the drill pad. Sergeant Grunt says, "You did okay, for a civilian, Double-Crap. But, you'll be doing much better two weeks from now." Sergeant Grunt takes off down the road after the formation, running to the next recruit who has fallen out, and you start walking back to the drill pad. You reach the drill pad and join the others. Slowly, more and more of your platoon walks back. You're heart is finally starting to beat normally again, and your breathing begins to slow. Most of the folks are now back in formation. After awhile, Staff Sergeant Fear comes racing back up the road. Only one recruit is still with him. The recruit is breathing hard, sweating profusely -- dying on his feet. Staff Sergeant Fear isn't even sweating. "Good Run, Good Run! Too Easy! We'll start picking up the pace and going longer in a couple of days. You pigs will learn to love it! Love it! Let me hear it! Too easy, right?" "Too Easy, Drill Sergeant! Too Easy!"

Grunt says, "Okay, get up and walk it off. Start walking slowly
back to the drill pad and get lined back up."
