Staff Sergeant Fear continues to count off the push ups. Finally, he stops, and you listen to the ragged breathing all around you.

"You geeks aren't used to push ups, are you?"

"No Drill Sergeant!"

"Not used to push ups, not used to sounding off so someone can hear you. Believe me, animals, you got one hell of a lot to learn."

Staff Sergeant Fear continues to walk up and down the ranks. "But," he says, "you will learn. I have only 10 weeks to teach you how to become good soldiers, sailors, and Marines. Each and every one of you will learn because I will make you learn. You will learn because you will do everything I tell you to do. If I tell you to take a crap, you will take a crap. If I tell you to run, you will run. If I tell you to eat, you will eat. If I tell you to stop breathing, then damn it, you will not take another breath. Do I make myself clear?"

"Yes, Drill Sergeant!"

"Because until your graduate boot camp, I am your mother, I am your father, I am your God, and all of his prophets. You fail to remember that, even once, and I'll make you wish your old man and old lady never met each other. You understand?"

"Yes, Drill Sergeant!"

"Everybody up! Okay, girls. Is everyone ready to take a tour of your new home?"

"Yes Drill Sergeant!"
