Army Training -- MOS 35T 35Y -- Integrated Family of Test Equipment Operator


Initial Training Overview:

Training for this MOS consists of nine weeks of Basic Training, followed by 34 weeks, 2 days of Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. Part of this time is spent in the classroom and part in the field.

During Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training (AIT), the Army limits a soldier's personal freedom, using a "Phase System," which grants increased freedom, based upon phase of training. For details, see Army Training Phase Restrictions.

Training Details:

Operate, self-test, and repair Integrated Family of Test Equipment. Test and repair as directed by computer programs of multiple electrical/electronic units from DS/GS maintainers. Performing electronic maintenance, adjustments and tests, operating and performing preventive maintenance checks and services on assigned vehicles and power generators, performing march order and emplacement of the base shop test facility, installing supported weapon system test program sets, replacing defective components and performing base shop test facility alignments, reading technical diagrams and manuals in order to locate, isolate and repair instrument parts, and replacing equipment parts such as resistors, switches and circuit boards.
