Army Training - - MOS 31E - - Corrections Specialist

Initial Training Overview: Training for this MOS consists of 17 weeks and one day of One Station Unit Training (OSUT), which combines basic training and job training all in one course of instruction, at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Part of this time is spent in the classroom and part in the field.
Additional Training Information: Specific formal training opportunities for this MOS, including advanced training courses available at specific points of the soldier's career, can be found on the Army Training Requirements and Resources System (ATRRS) Web Site.
Restrictions: During Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training (AIT), the Army limits a soldier's personal freedom, using a "Phase System," which grants increased freedom, based upon phase of training. For details, see Army Training Phase Restrictions.
Training Details: Provides a logical progression of transitioning civilians into soldiers by the presentation of individual skills and tasks selected to develop a well disciplined, motivated soldier, proficient in common entry level tasks. Develops self-discipline, motivation, physical readiness, and proficiency in combat survivability, combat techniques, and individual weapons. Also provides the knowledge and skills required to function as a corrections specialist, to include battlefield circulation control, area security, EPW operations, introductions to corrections, administration of facilities, prisoner administration and services, custody and control, weapons training, corrections mission on the battlefield, investigative procedures, and mock confinement facilities.
