Initial Training Overview:
Training for this MOS consists of nine weeks of basic training, plus 11 weeks, three days of Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Fort Gordon, Georgia.

During Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training (AIT), the Army limits a soldier's personal freedom, using a "Phase System," which grants increased freedom, based upon phase of training. For details, see Army Training Phase Restrictions.
Installs, operates, and performs unit level maintenance on AM and TACSAT (manportable) radios, HF data systems, SINCGARS, DTD AN/CYZ-10 and PLGR AN/PSN-11; transposes, processes, transmits, receives, and maintains accountabilitiy for record communications; installs, operates, maintains programs, and maintains accountability for cryptographic devices and material; installs AM/FM antennas and antenna systems; operates and maintains FBCB2; installs, operates, troubleshoots and performs PMCS on power generating equipment and tactical vehicle equipment.
