Initial Training Overview: Job training consists 18 to 25 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Fort Eustis, Virginia, including practice in repairing electrical systems. (Note: Exact length of training depends on weapons system assigned to the soldier's duty station). Part of this time is spent in the classroom and part in the field.

Restrictions: During Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training (AIT), the Army limits a soldier's personal freedom, using a "Phase System," which grants increased freedom, based upon phase of training. For details, see Army Training Phase Restrictions.
Training Details: Note: This is not an entry-level job. To attend the course and become a 15K -- Aircraft Componant Repair Supervisor, the soldier must first serve in another 15-series MOS, and be in the rank of SFC or SSGT. Course provides soldier with the knowledge to perform the following duties: supervises aircraft component repair and technical inspection activities. Determines manhours, personnel, parts and facility requirements to repair aircraft components and associated equipment. Plans aircraft maintenance areas, component repair shops, and facilities. Instructs subordinates in aircraft components repair and technical inspection techniques and procedures according to directives, technical manuals, work standards, and operational policies. Maintains supply economy and discipline. Supervises the component repair technical training program. Prepares evaluations, special reports and training program. Prepares evaluations, special reports and records pertaining to aircraft component repair and related activities. Recommends and administers plans and policies.
