Initial Training Overview:
Job training for a PATRIOT Launching Station Enhanced Operator consists of nine weeks of Basic Training, and 11 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Fort Bliss, Texas. Part of this time is spent in a classroom and part in the field under simulated combat conditions.

During Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training (AIT), the Army limits a soldier's personal freedom, using a "Phase System," which grants increased freedom, based upon phase of training. For details, see Army Training Phase Restrictions.
rovide general block instruction on the following subjects: driving skills for the heavy expanded mobility tactical truck, missile reload, launching station (LS) operation and maintenance, LS march order and emplacement, operator checks and preventive maintenance on the PATRIOT Launching Station. Other subjects covered include: Operating technologies specific to the Patriot system, operating gun, missile and rocket launching systems specific to the Patriot, and artillery tactics and battle strategy.
