Initial Training Overview: Job training for a Patriot Fire Control Enhanced Operator requires nine weeks of Basic Training, followed by 19 weeks, four days of Advanced Individual Training at Fort Bliss, Texas. Part of this time is spent in a classroom and part in the field under simulated combat conditions.

Restrictions: During Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training (AIT), the Army limits a soldier's personal freedom, using a "Phase System," which grants increased freedom, based upon phase of training. For details, see Army Training Phase Restrictions.
Training Details: The training course provides general block instruction on the operation and maintenance for the PATRIOT Missile System. Subjects include operation, operational checks and adjustments, and repair procedures. Other course subjexts include: Operating technologies specific to the Patriot system, Methods of calculating targets electronically and manually, operating gun, missile and rocket systems specific to the Patriot, and artillery tactics and battle strategy.
