Air Education and Training Command sent an email to 300,000 former basic trainees Tuesday asking for information about any sexual misconduct they may have experienced or witnessed while attending basic and technical training. The email was aimed at all current and former airmen who went through basic at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland during the last 10 years, said Maj. Carla Gleason, an AETC spokeswoman.

In a statement, the head of AETC, Gen. Edward Rice, called the email “part of our outreach efforts … to help us uncover alleged unprofessional relationships, sexual misconduct and sexual assault in basic and technical military training,” according to an Air Force Times story.
