Stop-Loss Likely to Continue in 2009

Monday November 3, 2008

The Army’s use of involuntary extensions of combat duty will likely continue through 2009 despite pledges earlier this year by top military officials to reduce reliance on the policy known as stop-loss, according to an article in the Army Times.

In September, 12,204 soldiers were affected by stop-loss, a policy that forces them to remain in the Army after their service commitment has expired. The same number likely will be affected each month through 2009, according to Army officials.

DRAFT

It’s worked just fine for previous generations. Now, it seems, we have a Congress too afraid to reconstitute an (albiet) unpopular program for fear of political backlash from a constituency which knows not of the sacrifice of war…that FREEDOM AIN’T FREE! It is far safer, politically, to run the horses, who choose to step up to the duty of citizenship, into the ground with multiple tours dealing with the horror of war…many when the’re barely able to shave.

DRAFT!

This is “horrific”!! This information needs to be passed along to media/public!! I am a Vietnam widow, & am so very thankful to all who served, & all who made the “ultimate sacrifice”, to their families. More citizens of the United States need to further their “educations” regarding our U.S, military men & women!! I, have personally disagreed highly of this “STOP-LOSS” situation & will always “continue” do everything I possibly can to do. I want to further spread the information, educate most Americans that they should take a “highly sensitive” response to this matter!! I disgusted with the treatment of our military men & women!!
