Navy Re-Training Opportunities

Monday September 22, 2008
The Navy publishes the Career Reenlistment Objectives (CREO) listing twice per year for sailors in the paygrades of E-1 through E-6. While the listing is intended to provide information about retraining possibilities, it also serves as a handy reference for promotion opportunities and for new applicants to determine whether or not the rating of their choice is likely to be available.

Bob,

The Flight Guide is the key member of the Flight that the Squad Leaders/Squad Members align on in formation whether stationary or moving. The Guide is responsible for setting the step size (30 inches) so the Flight doesn’t move to fast or slow under the Drill Instructors cadence. The Guide also has to maintain distant eye contact with an object to ensure the route of march is straight (not meandering). Further the Guide is responsible for the Flight’s Guidon (flag); the Guidon is an object of pride within the unit. That’s just a little info about the Guide. It is as your Daughter said an important job and it is definitely worthy of praise.
