(1) MAJ James Thornton says:

I want to know if the States Guard or Defense Force Troops who served on active duty during the phases of Hurricane Katrina are eligible for these medals. We were in uniform, we suffered injuries, were shot at, and rescued people the same as the other uniformed services, sometimes, hand in hand with those Troops on Title 10 orders. Do we qualify since we didn’t get paid or any other recognition for our service??? Jim
