Soldiers to Get More Combat Training
Monday November 28, 2005
The Army is instituting significant changes in how it trains Soldiers, aiming to make them more battle ready.
Among the changes, all Soldiers will participate in a live-fire convoy exercise; units will be provided with squad-designated marksmen, who will train an extra two weeks before being assigned to their unit; and, mobile training facilities are planned which will bring schools like the basic and advanced NCO courses directly to Soldiers.
