Did you know that a soldier at one Army installation can agree to "swap" assignments with a soldier at another installation, as long as it doesn't cost the government any money?

The problem is trying to find someone that wants to swap assignments with you. How do you go about finding someone that wants to swap?

I’m a 92Y20 getting ready to DEROES here in Korea on 30 NOV. I’m currently assigned to Ft. Bragg and I would like to know if anybody wants to swap it for Ft. Sill. My wife lives in Oklahoma City and is attending law school there. I haven’t seen her in a year and would REALLY like to be as close to her as I can possibly can. I’ve been trying to request Ft. Sill for the last six months with no success. Please let me know if anyone is interested in swapping because I don’t want to be away from my wife any longer.
My report date to Ft. Bragg is 10 Jan. 09.
This may be helpful especially for those coming from over seas if you are trying get to a certain base sometimes if you go to that base and get with a unit there they may be able to pull you from your current orders and get you there but do it while on leave. My husband had a chance to do this when he was on orders to go to Korea and stay at Ft.Hood alot of these unit are hurting your DA assigns you but these Commanders have a lot of pull also try that and see if it works.
