Guard/Reserve Mobilized

Monday March 22, 2004
This week only the Navy reported an increase while all other services saw a decrease in the number of reservists on active duty in support of the partial mobilization. The net collective result is 2,990 less reservists on active duty than last week.

At any given time, services may mobilize some units and individuals while demobilizing others, making it possible for these figures to either increase or decrease. Total number currently on active duty in support of the partial mobilization for the Army National Guard and Army Reserve is 152,959; Naval Reserve 2,681; Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve, 15,772; Marine Corps Reserve, 5,143; and the Coast Guard Reserve, 1,597. This brings the total National Guard and Reserve on active duty to 178,152 including both units and individual augmentees. A cumulative roster of all National Guard and Reserve who are currently on active duty can be found at http://www.defenselink.mil/news/Mar2004/d20040317.pdf.
