Army College Fund (ACF)
Saturday September 13, 2003
Most people who enlist in the United States Military (any branch) are authorized to participate in the Montgomery G.I. Bill (MGIB). Under the MGIB, a military member's pay is reduced by $100 per month for 12 months (total of $1,200). In exchange, the MGIB will pay (for a full time college student) $935 per month, for up to 36 months of education (total MGIB education benefit of $33,660). See our article on the MGIB for more details.
The Army College Fund (ACF) is an enlistment benefit that adds to the MGIB. One cannot have the ACF without participating in the MGIB, as the two programs run hand-in-hand.

I’m trying to figure out why it is taking so long for my son Sean Frazier to get his ACF. I’m a SFC in the active army right now. So I would like a reply back on what I need to do to get his College Fund started. He goes to Queensboro Community College and has been enrolled for 3 months and hasnt received his money yet. You can call me at 1-877-262-3617.
The AFC was part of my enlistment bonus. I attend the San Diego Golf Academy in myrtle Beach, Sc. I have started recieving my GI Bill, and would like to know how to go about recieving the AFC. I have lost my enlistment contract, and am curious as to how i would obtain a copy. I will look forarwd to your response by Email, or I can be contacted at 617-224-8101.
Who can i call to find out when my ACF will be added to my gi bill i have alredy sumited all of my paper work and i have still not reseaved any additional money for the ACF .

Hi, i have started receiving my GI Bill and buy-up amount, but also would want my ACF. I did send VA all the paper work necessary, including my ACF contract. Two-months now and still no ACF money!!! can you please help. im in Texas at Midwestern state university. email me with your advice. thanks abdulmussa@yahoo.com
Hi,
I’m Walter, I was wondering if someone could help me locate an original copy of my Army College Fund paperwork. If I could just get the right point of contact. Thank you!
I signed up for 6 yrs and was told I had ACF but when i got out VA asked for 3286-66 but it was not in my enlistment contract stuff. In fact I never remember even getting that form. I asked HRCC to send me it but they said they do not have it either. I have supporting documentation stating my 50,000 ACF option but VA says without my 3286-66 im screwed. I dont know what to do has anyone else been faced with this dilema? Any ideas.
how come even though the enlistment contracts from 91 to 2003 state the MGIB and ACF are 2 different things, I was told that the ACF amount i received is the TOTAL of both amounts when they are clearly listed as 2 different things in th contract. I filed an injustice against with the ABCMR and they called the contract “blatantly misleading” but yet not action to correct the funds is taken? and now this new mgib doesn’t comver students who have been using their benefits up until this point and we are screwed out of both. Does anyone else see this as horribly wrong?
I served five years on active duty and was told I’d get $33,000 in ACF money but I only received my MGIB and buy up money. After appealing to the Army Board for Correction of Military Records (ABCMR) I was told that DFAS would not pay because of an error the Army made in enlistment contracts from 1993-2004. I contacted my congresswoman, Doris Matsui, and she was able to get the Defense Authorization Bill for Fiscal Year 2009 worded in a way that would allow me to reapply through ABCMR and get my $33,000. If you are interested in reading the language of the legislation it is in Sec 549 of the FY2009 Defense bill. If you have any further questions, email me at jerman901@yahoo.com
